'Drawing the Portrait' with Laura Arenson
Dates: Thursday’s 18th & 25th September 2025 (2 Day Course)
Time: 18:00 - 20:30 pm
Venue: The Gallery at Green & Stone
Tickets: £80
DRAWING THE PORTRAIT
In drawing the portrait from a live model we come to observe the human face in ways we have never done so before. In this two part workshop we will explore the anatomy of the skull, consider how to articulate a person's unique likeness and their expressions through the visual language of art and think about the narrative we want to communicate about our sitter through our art.
We will work on a sustained pose over two sessions from a live model and students may use either charcoal, charcoal and chalk or graphite pencils on toned paper.
This class aims to nurture enjoyment and self-confidence in drawing in a structured and supported environment. All levels are welcome. No prior experience is necessary.
All art materials are provided by Green & Stone.
Drinks and Snacks will be available.
