KARIM EL GAMMAL

KARIM EL GAMMAL

THE TRANSITION

“Karim’s work functions as a portal. His paintings do not depict transition so much as they embody it, allowing the viewer to feel the gravity of that in-between state where canvases are charged with something beyond their form.”

  • There will always be transformative moments of clarity and higher understanding. These are not just shifts in time but profound psychological thresholds where one reality dissolves into another. The Transition is an exhibition that invites the viewer into these liminal spaces, the waiting areas between one existence and the next, between the known and the unknown.

Karim’s work functions as a portal. His paintings do not depict transition so much as they embody it, allowing the viewer to feel the gravity of that in-between state where canvases are charged with something beyond their form. They are fields of energy, vibrating between realms, asking the viewer to surrender to the ambiguity of transformation.

In his abstract pieces, a single horizontal divide acts as both a separation and a connection—a horizon where two worlds touch, resist, and ultimately merge. The spaces above and below are in constant dialogue, speaking to the human desire to transcend, to step beyond the confines of the present moment. These paintings do not impose a singular interpretation; they invite introspection. They ask: where do you stand in this transition? What are you moving toward? What must you leave behind?

This state of higher consciousness is not passive—it is visceral, alive. It is the unsettling yet exhilarating sensation of stepping into the unknown. Here, one world bleeds into the next, and in this fusion, we find revelation.

With The Transition, Karim does not merely depict a mystical experience; he grants the viewer access to it. The work itself becomes a space for personal transformation—one where we, as individuals, are confronted with the threshold of change, with the boundless potential of what lies beyond.
